Our client is in the process of re-writing how sports, fans and enthusiasts come together to build a thriving community around a sport. We need a passionate and talented Director, Program Management to guide us through launching 100’s of sites focusing on individual sports.

We are looking for a Grade A Director, Program Management.  Our ideal candidate is someone who loves the diversity of working with engineers, product designers, project managers and QA engineers to build best of web sites on the Internet.

Reporting to CTO, the Director will manage a growing group of 5-7 diverse individuals from client side engineers to project managers and QA engineers.

• Manages complex projects/programs (5-10 people). Direct the planning, project management, budgeting and quality assurance efforts as it relates to software development projects.
• Leads diverse teams (i.e., multiple domains, across geographies, potential partners involved) to deliver best of breed websites.
• Responsible for relationships within SportNet’s leadership team and communicates status and issues regularly.
• Project planning from site inception to launch.  Plans projects or work packages up front by leading the estimation efforts before work get started and turning those into high and mid level project plans.
• Mobilizes and manages a team to execute against project plans.
• Manages peer-level relationships (expectations, communications, negotiations, escalation, feedback, etc.).  Develops relationships with key stakeholders and executives.
• Ability to manage and negotiate with third-party vendors.
• Develop and manage a department budget including lab expenditures.
• Continuous team development including hiring, retention, performance management, skills development, career development and succession planning.
• Provide visible leadership across a three-site development team involving occasional travel.
• Develop and drive quarterly goals against annual performance.
• Align technology strategy with company\\\\\\\'s vision, goals, business operations, and markets.
• Promote a culture that encourages change and innovation.
• Develop and provide guidance on career development and learning opportunities.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science
• 10 years experience in Program Management experience with IT and Internet projects.
• Led a Business Design AND a Technical Design phase.
• Led one or more implementation projects as a Project Manager.
• Participated in multiple full software development life-cycles.
• Ability to make compelling presentations to an audience of diverse business stakeholders.
• Experience managing J2EE projects.
• Experience desired in object oriented design projects and methodologies.
