Responsibilities of the Director – SOX and Special Projects will include coordinating activities such as production audits, audits by outside parties, and general oversight related to the PPC compliance process.

The position reports to the VP-SOX Compliance and there will be significant interaction with and exposure to senior management throughout the organization.



Responsibilities

The Director – SOX and Special Projects will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist the SOX Compliance group in identifying key risks throughout the business and preparing the annual risk assessment.
  • Work independently to coordinate and communicate activities with and results to the various PPC divisions, liaising with senior management throughout PPC and representing the VP – Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance as necessary.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and experience (e.g., production audit) for projects and participate hands-on as necessary.
  • Supervise and train teams to perform specialist projects.
  • Develop and present recommendations with management for improvements and remediations as a result of project findings, in formal report form as needed.
  • Follow up that all agreed recommendations are subsequently implemented.
  • Provide internal controls advice for business partners throughout the organization.
  • Keep up-to-date on internal controls leading practices and help to formulate and implement them throughout PPC.
  • Meet corporate deadlines as relevant.
  • >Be a role model for the Viacom Code of Conduct and demonstrate the highest ethical standards.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • College degree and >10 years’ experience
  • Entertainment studio experience required (including significant production audit experience on feature film and television productions)
  • International experience preferred
  • Public accounting background (preferably with the Big Four) with CPA or similar certification preferred
  • Internal audit and SOX experience at an advanced level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and facilitate change
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently within the group while working collaboratively as needed and at all levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint
